How you can make your wrap last longer

How you can make your wrap last longer

Vehicle wraps can last between 1 - 5+ years, the lifespan of a wrap really comes down to how it is stored and cared for. You can vastly extend the longevity of your wrap by practicing a few simple care habits and keeping the following in mind:

Horizontal surfaces such as hoods, roofs, and bonnets are especially vulnerable, as they are directly exposed to the elements such as UV, so wherever possible, store your vehicle under cover, in a garage or use a protective car cover.

Handwash your car regularly and clean off harsh contaminates such as bird dropping as soon as you notice them, the acidity in bird droppings can damage the vinyl if left for a prolonged period.

To clean off bird droppings, soak the affected area for a few minutes with warm, soapy water to loosen, then rinse completely and dry with a microfibre cloth.

Keep an eye on the condition of your wrap, if you neglect to care for your wrap, you may notice brown spots appear in the vinyl and fading. If you are unsure if your wrap is due to be removed, take it back to your installer for an inspection and quote for removal.

HAVE A QUESTION?

We’d be more than happy to answer it for you! I love helping people better understand the wrap industry.

As wrap shops, we do an amazing job of creating content that is aesthetic based and why not! Vehicle wrapping is one of the most photogenic industries to be in!  We create an product that is completed in a relatively short amount of time; so the before and after results are so captivating!

We place a focus on educating clients around the nature of a wrap. A lot of clientele may have no idea what a wrap is, so we believe it’s important to shed as much light as we can. At Drive we have a focus on correctly educating our clients on our product so they can make an informed decision on if it’s the right choice for them and how to get the best life out of their new wrap.
