Unlike a spray or liquid sealant (like ceramic clear coats) due to its anti-shock technology. PPF also protects your car against UV exposure and other free radicals. PPF can also be installed on your car's headlights to protect them from yellowing and breakdown.
Most PPF brands have a few different grades of PPF and the higher end films have self-healing properties, better clarity and even 10+year warranties.
Basically, there are 2 ways to fit PPF. Bulk fitting and Pre-cut.
Bulk fitting is taking slabs of film straight off the roll and freestyle cutting on the car which is great as it’s a complete custom install that offers total coverage of an area. Nevertheless, bulk fitting can also be more time consuming and you need to make sure the installer is well experienced in trimming.
Pre-cut templates are cut from digital files. Digital templates have relief cuts pre-existing in them and usually sit a couple of mill in from the edge of a body line. With pre-cut, the install is quicker and there is no need for cutting on the car.
The main goal with your PPF install is that it delivers on its intended performance.
