Ceramic Coating Aftercare

Ceramic Coating Aftercare Guide

Congratulations on protecting your vehicle with a ceramic coating!

Your vehicle has been treated with a professional ceramic coating to help protect the surface and make maintenance easier. While ceramic coating provides excellent protection, it is not maintenance-free. Regular care is essential to achieve the best long-term performance.

During the Initial Cure Period

For the first 7 days after application:

  • Do not wash the vehicle.

  • Avoid automatic car washes.

  • Minimise exposure to heavy rain where possible.

  • If the vehicle becomes wet, gently dry it with a clean microfibre towel.

The coating continues to harden during this curing period.

Routine Washing

Wash regularly

Wash your vehicle every two to four weeks to prevent dirt and contaminants from building up.

Use a pH-neutral car shampoo

Avoid harsh chemicals, degreasers and strong detergents that may reduce the coating’s performance.

Hand wash only

Use the two-bucket washing method with a quality microfibre wash mitt whenever possible.

Dry with a clean microfibre towel

Drying the vehicle helps prevent mineral deposits and water spotting.

Contaminants

Remove bird droppings, tree sap, bug splatter and other contaminants as soon as practical. Although ceramic coating provides protection, prolonged exposure to these contaminants can still mark the surface.

Avoid

  • Abrasive polishes or cutting compounds.

  • Household cleaning chemicals.

  • Automatic car washes with stiff brushes.

  • Applying traditional waxes unless specifically recommended.

Maintaining Your Coating

Ceramic coatings make cleaning easier by helping repel dirt and water, but they are not scratch-proof or maintenance-free.

Regular washing and occasional professional inspections will help keep the coating performing at its best for many years.
