Paint Protection Film

Paint Protection Film (PPF) Aftercare Guide

Congratulations on your new Paint Protection Film!

Your vehicle has been protected with premium Paint Protection Film (PPF). PPF is designed to help shield your paintwork from stone chips, light scratches, road debris and everyday wear while maintaining your vehicle’s original finish.

With the correct care, your PPF will continue protecting your vehicle and looking fantastic for many years.

First 7 Days

Following installation:

  • Do not wash the vehicle for at least 7 days.

  • Avoid pressure washing during this period.

  • If possible, keep the vehicle under cover while the adhesive fully cures.

Small water bubbles or slight haziness immediately after installation are normal and generally disappear as the film cures.

Washing

Hand wash whenever possible. Use a pH-neutral automotive shampoo and a clean microfibre wash mitt.

Pressure washing

Pressure washers may be used after the curing period, provided the nozzle is kept at least 1 metre away and never directed at the edges of the film.

Dry thoroughly

Dry the vehicle using a clean microfibre towel or filtered air blower.

Contaminants

Remove bird droppings, tree sap, bug splatter and other contaminants promptly. Although PPF is highly durable, these contaminants can still affect the film if left for extended periods.

Self-Healing Properties

Many modern Paint Protection Films feature self-healing technology that allows very light surface marks to disappear with warmth from the sun or warm water.

Please note that deeper scratches, stone impacts and cuts cannot self-heal.

Long-Term Care

  • Park under cover whenever practical.

  • Avoid abrasive polishing compounds.

  • Do not pick at the edges of the film.

  • Inspect the film periodically for accidental damage.

If any section becomes damaged, it can usually be replaced without repainting the entire vehicle.

Thank you for choosing Drive Creative. With proper care, your Paint Protection Film will continue protecting your vehicle and preserving its appearance for years to come.
