Vinyl Wrap Aftercare Guide

A vehicle wrap is a premium vinyl film professionally applied over your vehicle’s paintwork. While modern wrapping films are incredibly durable, they are still exposed to UV rays, weather, road grime and everyday wear. Proper care will help your wrap maintain its appearance for as long as possible.

First 48 Hours

  • Avoid washing your vehicle for at least 48 hours after installation.

  • If possible, keep the vehicle under cover while the adhesive continues to bond to the paintwork.

Cleaning

Hand wash whenever possible.

Hand washing is the safest method for maintaining your wrap.

  • Use a pH-neutral car shampoo
    Only use a mild automotive wash that is safe for vinyl wraps. Avoid products containing alcohol, ammonia, solvents or abrasive compounds.

Use soft wash media

  • Wash using a clean microfibre wash mitt or soft sponge. Never use abrasive brushes or scouring pads.

Dry thoroughly

  • Dry the vehicle with a clean microfibre towel to minimise water spotting.

Pressure washers

  • Pressure washing can be used with care. Keep the nozzle at least 1 metre from the vehicle, use a wide spray pattern and never direct high-pressure water at wrap edges or seams.

Remove Contaminants Quickly

  • Bird droppings, tree sap, bug splatter and fuel spills should be cleaned off as soon as possible, as they may stain or damage the vinyl if left for extended periods.

  • If required, soak the area with warm soapy water before gently wiping clean with a microfibre cloth.

Protecting Your Wrap

  • Park under cover whenever possible.

  • Avoid prolonged exposure to harsh sunlight where practical.

  • Avoid polishing compounds or abrasive waxes.

  • Do not use household cleaning products on the wrap.

Understanding Wrap Longevity

Vehicle wraps are a consumable exterior finish and will naturally age over time. Their lifespan depends on many factors, including UV exposure, climate, storage conditions, driving habits and ongoing maintenance.
