How long does it take to wrap a car?

If you wish to get a vinyl wrap, be prepared to leave your vehicle with the wrap shop for a couple of days to a weeks’ time.

Regardless of how clean your car looks when you deliver it to the workshop, the first day is spent cleaning the vehicle and preparing the surface so that it’s ‘wrap ready’.

Depending on if you are getting a partial or full wrap, a lot of hardware is removed such as the badges, door handles, mirrors, spoiler etc… Removing these parts helps with the installation process and means there will be minimal seams in the vinyl finishing.

The following days are spent meticulously wrapping the vehicle.

Ideally, the car is kept a final day after the wrap is complete, this way the installers can check over the wrap and ensure that none of the edges have lifted and all the finishing has been done neatly.

Depending on the film used for the wrap, film selection will also affect installation time.  Films with a more aggressive adhesive or films that are more rigid to work with can slow down the install process as well.

So, installing a wrap is quite a labor-intensive process that can’t be rushed.

HAVE A QUESTION?

We’d be more than happy to answer it for you! I love helping people better understand the wrap industry.

As wrap shops, we do an amazing job of creating content that is aesthetic based and why not! Vehicle wrapping is one of the most photogenic industries to be in!  We create an product that is completed in a relatively short amount of time; so the before and after results are so captivating!

We place a focus on educating clients around the nature of a wrap. A lot of clientele may have no idea what a wrap is, so we believe it’s important to shed as much light as we can. At Drive we have a focus on correctly educating our clients on our product so they can make an informed decision on if it’s the right choice for them and how to get the best life out of their new wrap.
